About Tender Tails
This page is for those that are interested in learning more about tender tails.
Tender tails are beanie babies that are made by Precious Moments. You can tell with one look at their adorable teardrop eyes. But what really sets them apart from Ty Beanies is the fact that you can get adoption papers.
Tender Tails are soft and cuddly and kids love them, they are made for kids, but many adults do collect them.
Adoption Papers
When you buy a tender tail, it should come with a pink tag. With this tag, you can fill in all the information need to have adoption papers sent to you from the maker of Precious Moments, Enesco. The adoption papers include the parent/owners name( whatever you would like to consider yourself) , and a name that you have picked out for your tender tail. The papers really make each tender tail different from the next because they have different names. Here is a picture of the adoption paper that you would receive.

Love and Care Guide.
As you can see, a certificate of adoption is not the only thing you receive when you send in the pink slip( as pictured above near the bottom of the picture). You also receive the Love and Care Guide. This guide includes your tender tail's name in it many times and gives ideas of what games you can play with your tender tail. We cannot guarantee that Enesco is still sending the papers.
Limited Editions
Limited Editions are only available for dealers to order at special Enesco shows across America. This makes these special tender tails harder to find, are available for only a short while, and are in great demand. You can tell a limited edition from a normal tender tail by looking at it's feet. On the bottom of a l.e. tender tail's foot is a pink heart. Currently there are 6 L.E. right now, the Car-a-Van Bear( more info below), Giraffe( more info below), White Owl, White Rhino, Unicorn, and coming soon, the Pink Flamingo. Below is the picture of the heart that is on most L.E.( there are some white rhinos that do not have the heart on them). We still have some limited editions available as indicated on the page they are on.
Care-a-Van Bear
The Care-a-Van Bear, as listed above, is a limited edition. But it is special because it can only be purchased from the Enesco Car-a-Van. It also represents Precious Moments' 20th anniversary. This one is extremely limited, so if you get yours while you still can. Here is a picture. We still have a few of these left!!
Giraffe
The giraffe is also very limited because it was a free gift to those that joined the Precious Moments Collector's Club. That offer was only good until Sept. 1st. Below is a picture of this hard to find tender tail. (SOLD OUT LONG AGO!!)

Retired
Like Ty beanies, tender tails are also retired. When they are retired, Enesco stops making them, and only has what's already available in inventory to sell to dealers. So when the dealers run out, they're only available on the secondary market. There are currently 8 retired tender tails, I have all available. Get yours before they go up in price. I now have the first set of tender tails ever made; which consists of the elephant, pig, turtle, horse, brown bear, and lion. Don't wait to buy any of the retired tender tails, because they become hard to find, fast. Click on the word Retired that is above to go to the retired part of my web site. (All Tender Tails we have for sale are vintage 1998-2000. All are new and have tags. Obviously all are retired and no longer being made.)
Mini Ornaments
These are mini replicas of the first 6 tender tails and the 4 Christmas tender tails. That makes a set of ten: elephant, pig, brown bear, turtle, horse, lion, polar bear, harp seal, reindeer, and cardinal. These Tiny Tenders have ribbons attached to them so that they can be used as ornaments. These cuties make a great addition to any tree. Plus, this is the first set of Tiny Tenders issued. I assume that Precious Moments will make more after the other tender tails, making the older sets go up in value. No, these tiny tenders do not come with adoption papers, because they are not tender tails, they are tiny tenders. Click on the picture below to be linked to the page with the mini ornaments.
